Growing up Kashmiri in Australia makes me really proud and happy. It’s a mix of joy, pride & strong connections that keep me tied to my roots.

Our community get-togethers are more than just events, they actually feel like home. Every year families from Melbourne & Sydney come together & those days are always epic. We laugh, play games, eat amazing food & just hang out like one big family. These gatherings give us a chance to connect, catch up with other Kashmiri families we don’t see often & create memories that last a lifetime.

Moments like these remind me of where I come from & make me grateful for everyone around me. Being part of this community has given me awesome friends & memories I’ll never forget. No matter where life takes me… I know I’ll always carry both Australia & Kashmir in my heart.
